Hello everyone! How are you all? I hope that you all are fine and I am fine too. Today, my blog is again a simple one as I have decided to blog on the basis. Ok, so today, we will discuss bacteria and viruses, and we will also discuss how they are different. So, let's get started!!!!
WHAT IS BACTERIA?
Bacteria are a type of biological cell. A few micrometers in length, bacteria have a number of shapes, ranging from spheres to rods and spirals. Bacteria were among the first life forms to appear on Earth, and are present in most of its habitats. Bacteria inhabit soil, water, acidic hot springs, radioactive waste, and the deep biosphere of the earth's crust. Bacteria also live in symbiotic and parasitic relationships with plants and animals. The study of bacteria is known as bacteriology, a branch of microbiology. Some bacterias are good while some are bad. It depends on which bacteria are being used. Where it can cause diseases and rot foods, and cause food poisoning, there it also helps to make foods and produce medicines. Again, it simply depends, which bacteria is being used.
WHAT ARE VIRUSES?
Okayyy!! So now, what are Viruses? Let me tell you. A virus is a submicroscopic infectious agent that replicates only inside the living cells of an organism. Viruses infect all types of life forms, from animals and plants to microorganisms, including bacteria and archaea. Viruses are found in almost every ecosystem on Earth and are the most numerous type of biological entities. The study of viruses is known as virology, a sub-specialty of microbiology. Viruses can either be good or bad too. But chances of having more useful viruses are next to none.
DISEASES THAT ARE CAUSED BY BACTERIA AND VIRUSES
BACTERIA
- Cholera.------Vibrio cholerae
- Leprosy.------Mycobacterium leprae.
- Tuberculosis.------ Mycobacterium tuberculosis
- Plague.------Yersinia pestis
- Anthrax.------Bacillus anthracis
- Pneumonia------Streptococcus pneumoniae
VIRUSES
- The common cold
- Flu
- Warts
- HIV/AIDS
- Ebola
- COVID-19.
HOW ARE BACTERIA AND VIRUSES TREATED?
Okay, so how are bacteria and viruses treated? The short answer to this question is... by using antibiotics and Antivirals. Another way to PREVENT them is to get their vaccines injected into your body. That way, you are safe. Now you may be thinking what is an antiviral? It is an agent that kills a virus or that suppresses its ability to replicate and, hence, inhibits its capability to multiply and reproduce. Ok, so now, what is an antibiotic? Antibiotics are drugs that we can take to kill bacteria that are causing disease in our bodies. One has to follow an antibiotic course of days to recover from the bacteria. But, some precautions need to be followed. Following are some of them.
- First of all, you need to know whether the complication you are dealing with is a bacteria or a virus?
- DO NOT leave the course even if you have recovered.
- One needs to understand that a virus will leave a body only if it completes its time. Which is no more than a week.
- On the other hand, if an antibiotic course is left in the midway, then chances of the bacteria getting resistant to that disease are multiplies.
Using an antibiotic is a good idea to recover, but doctors are finding many antibiotics do not work anymore. Bacteria have become resistant to them. Let me explain through the image below.

That is why we should not leave an anti-bacterial course in the midway.
