FOOD POISONING

Hello Everyone! How are you all? I am fine, and I hope that you all are fine too. Today I will be blogging on a common topic with which everyone is familiar. Yes! Today I will blog on " Food Poisoning" So, let's begin!!!!!!

GENERAL INTRODUCTION:-

Food Poisoning, in general terms, is the illness caused by the intake of contaminated foods. It is caused by a bacterium that is present in food and is not dead until or unless the food is completely cooked. It is even caused by water. It will be discussed in detail in the causes section. Let us proceed.

CAUSES:-

Following are the three causes of food poisoning:-

  • Bacteria
  • Parasite
  • Viruses

Furthermore, I am listing the types of these bacteria, parasites, and viruses in order.

BACTERIA:-

  • E-coli
  • Salmonella(biggest culprit)
  • Listeria
  • Botulism
  • Campylobacter

PARASITES:-

  • Toxoplasma gondii

VIRUSES:-

  • Norovirus/Norwalk virus
  • Sapovirus
  • Rotavirus
  • Astrovirus
  • Hepatitis A virus

SYMPTOMS:-

Following are the causes a person may experience if they are attacked by any of the above bacteria, virus, or parasite. In a nutshell, if a person is food-poisoned, they will have the following symptom. Common cases of food poisoning will typically include at least three of the following symptoms:

  • abdominal cramps
  • diarrhea
  • vomiting
  • loss of appetite
  • mild fever
  • weakness
  • nausea
  • headaches

Symptoms of potentially life-threatening food poisoning include:

  • diarrhea persisting for more than three days
  • a fever higher than 101.5°F
  • difficulty seeing or speaking
  • symptoms of severe dehydration, which may include dry mouth, passing little to no urine, and difficulty keeping fluids down
  • bloody urine

If you experience any of these symptoms, you should contact your doctor immediately.

DIAGNOSIS AND CURE:-

DIAGNOSIS:-

Your doctor may be able to diagnose the type of food poisoning based on your symptoms. In severe cases, blood tests, stool tests, and tests on food that you have eaten may be conducted to determine what is responsible for the food poisoning. Your doctor may also use a urine test to evaluate whether an individual is dehydrated as a result of food poisoning.

CURE:-

Food poisoning can usually be treated at home, and most cases will resolve within three to five days.

If you have food poisoning, it’s crucial to remain properly hydrated. Sports drinks high in electrolytes can be helpful with this. Fruit juice and coconut water can restore carbohydrates and help with fatigue.

Avoid caffeine, which may irritate the digestive tract. Decaffeinated teas with soothing herbs like chamomile, peppermint, and dandelion may calm an upset stomach. It’s also important for those with food poisoning to get plenty of rest. In the very worst cases of food poisoning, a longer hospitalization may be required while the individual recovers.

PREVENTIONS:-

Food poisoning can be prevented if the following ways are applied:-

  • Cook the food completely and ensure it is not raw.
  • Boil the water so the germs die.
  • Wash vegetables and fruits completely so the dust and outside germs are removed.
  • Make handwashing your habit.
  • Prefer fresh food, but if you use tinned food, then make sure to buy sealed cans and check the expiry date before buying it. If you see an expired tin, then hand over it to the market authority. After all, others' health matters too.
  • Sanitize your hands more often.
  • Don't expose your mouth, nose, or eyes with dirty hands.

PREVALENCE:-

An estimated 48 million Americans, or one in six, get sick from food poisoning each year, many suffering from violent vomiting, diarrhea, or even death in rare cases. While the American food supply is among the safest in the world, the Federal government estimates that there are about 48 million cases of foodborne illness annually—the equivalent of sickening 1 in 6 Americans each year. And each year these illnesses result in an estimated 128,000 hospitalizations and 3,000 deaths.

We just need a bit of safety and a strong immune system and we are all safe!

EXAMS-GATEKEEPERS TO SUCCESS OR TRAPS OF STRESS?

Hello, lovely people. It has been a really long time since I have posted anything. To be honest, whenever I got free from my college exams, I have been writing something constantly, but in the end, the final draft did not seem perfect enough to post and for people to read. I was in exam crunch due to my last college year, so I needed to focus on my studies. And now THAT I AM DONE WITH  MY LAST BOARD EXAM today, here I am, at your service, breaking ice on another taboo subject. One that some parents MIGHT NOT appreciate. So here we go, my thoughts at your service, for you to analyze and weigh(erm.. I should probably skip to the main part :) Anyway, Enjoy!) As judged by the topic, we are going to look at an in-depth analysis of the concept of exams and whether they are really the right tool to assess every student, even after knowing that, well, every mind is built differently? So, what can an exam be defined as? According to Google search( yep, I research from Google ),  ...

NAEGLERIA

Hello everyone! How are you all? I hope that you all are fine. Okay... so the topic for today is Naegleria. So, without losing a moment, let's get started:- GENERAL INTRODUCTION:- Naegleria  is a free-living amoebae protist genus consisting of 47 described species often found in warm aquatic environments as well as soil habitats worldwide. It has three life cycle forms: the amoeboid stage, the cyst stage, and the flagellated stage, and has been routinely studied for its ease in change from amoeboid to flagellated stages. The  Naegleria  genera became famous when  Naegleria fowleri , a human pathogenic strain and the causative agent of primary amoebic meningoencephalitis (PAM), was discovered in 1965. Most species in the genus, however, are nonpathogenic. TYPES OF NAEGLERIA:- 47 species of  Naegleria  have been described. These include: Naegleria americana Naegleria andersoni Naegleria angularis Naegleria antarctica Naegleria arctica Naegleria austral...
