HEPATITIS (TYPE E)

Hello everyone! Today's topic is Hepatitis Type E. Let's get started!

GENERAL INTRODUCTION

Hepatitis Type E is a potentially serious acute disease and it targets the liver.

CAUSES

Following are the main causes of Hepatitis Type E :

  1. It is caused by the hepatitis E virus (HEV)
  2. Most cases of hepatitis E are caused by drinking water contaminated by fecal matter.
  3. More rarely, hepatitis E can be transmitted by eating products from infected animals.
  4. It can also be transmitted through blood transfusions.
  5. It can also be transferred from mother to child during childbirth.

SYMPTOMS

If you are infected with HEV, you may notice the following symptoms within several weeks of exposure:

  • yellowing of the skin
  • dark urine
  • joint pain
  • a loss of appetite
  • pain in the abdomen
  • liver enlargement
  • acute liver failure
  • nausea
  • vomiting
  • fatigue
  • fever

TREATMENT

If hepatitis E is suspected and your immune system is not suppressed, you may not need medications. A doctor may advise you to rest, drink plenty of fluids, avoid alcohol, and practice good hygiene until the infection subsides. You should consult a reliable doctor before taking any medicines.

PREVENTION

To avoid contracting hepatitis E, be cautious about drinking unsanitary water.

In developing countries, drink only purified or boiled water. Avoid uncooked or unpeeled foods. These include fruit, vegetables, and shellfish, which are usually rinsed in water.

It is also important to practice good hygiene and wash your hands often.

PREVALENCE

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 20 million cases of hepatitis E infection occur every year, and 44,000 of these cases resulted in death in 2015. It is more common in developing countries. Hepatitis E epidemics involving large numbers of people have been reported in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Central America. Hepatitis E usually resolves itself but may develop into acute liver failure.

Well, readers, that was it. Hope you liked it and it gave you enough information about Hepatitis type D. If still have any queries, feel free to ask in the comments, and yes! suggestions will be appreciated. Take care and keep you and your family safe. I will write again soon. Till then, bubyeeee.

As judged by the topic, we are going to look at an in-depth analysis of the concept of exams and whether they are really the right tool to assess every student, even after knowing that, well, every mind is built differently? So, what can an exam be defined as? According to Google search( yep, I research from Google ),  ...
