Hello everyone!! How are you all? I hope you are fine and I
am good too.
Today, I would talk about a disease that is not so common, but it could get catastrophic if reported in one person. Yes, it is contagious. You might be thinking that I am talking of COVID-19 or Sars-Cov2, but you're incorrect there. Today I would be talking of a complication that is known by the pseudonym of Scabies.
Scabies is a skin infestation. It is induced by a mite (a mite is a minute arachnid which has four sets of legs and is discovered in soil or germinates place as a saprophyte (parasite)). The mite is known as the Sarcoptes scabiei. It is infectious. The preeminent and most prevalent manifestation is itching. Let us now get to the intensities of this disease and uncover out further about its indications, antecedents, from where it had dawned, and how common it is.
Scabies originated from China, being first reported in a dog. It is caused by a mite known as the Sarcoptes scabiei. The mite is found in all parts of the world. Humans are not the only mammals that can become infected. It is now mostly found in cats and dogs----- cats more probably and commonly. It is also cats that have a hand in spreading it. Scabies usually is spread by direct, prolonged, skin-to-skin contact with a person who has scabies. Contact generally may or may not be prolonged; a quick handshake or hug usually may spread scabies.
Now comes to the symptoms. Following are some
symptoms that are found in the person when it is affected by a scabies mite:-
· In children, palms and soles are generally involved with pustules.
· In adults, genital areas along with breasts, underarms, wrist, elbows, genitals, hips, the webbing between your fingers. and thighs are the most common areas to be get affected. (itching--- mainly at night)
· Apart from that Pustules too are the firsthand symptoms of scabies.
· Rashes also occur.
· Thick crusts on the skin are formed.
· Sores are also in common.
Now, what are the medical
diagnoses of scabies?? Well, it is made by identifying the scabeiatc burrow and
visualizing the mite.
Next are the treatments.
· The preeminent precaution is to eradicate personal contact in and out of the family.
· Next, you apply the anti scabies lotion which contains Permethrin cream. Permethrin is a topical cream that contains chemicals that kill scabies mites and their eggs. It is generally considered safe for adults as well as children.
· Wash clothes in hot water every night after applying the lotion and take a bath in the morning straight as you wake up. Be careful not to touch anything.
If no improvement is shown, then there is domestic treatment:-
You may use the following:-
· Tea tree oil.
· Aloe vera. ...
· Neem. ...
· Clove oil. ...
· Cayenne pepper. ...
· Turmeric. ...
· Zinc. ...
· Wash clothes in hot water.
So here, I finish today’s blog. Hope I provided every point of importance. And you know what? I, along with my family, was also affected by scabies this year!!! That is why I wrote about it. I would write my next blog soon. Till then, Allah hafiz!!
