METABOLIC SYNDROME.

 Hello everyone!!!

Welcome back! Today I am going to talk about a syndrome which is linked with my previous blog(it was on weight and obesity. Scroll down to read it.). Yes! Today I will give you some information on Metabolic Syndrome and the factors that lead to this complication.

First of all, what is metabolic syndrome??  First I will define what a syndrome. It is a cluster of symptoms that occur together and they are associated with a specific disorder. It is derived from Greek which means “occurrence”. So metabolic syndrome is a name for a group of risk factors that raise your risk for heart disease and other health problems, such as diabetes and stroke. The term "metabolic" refers to the biochemical processes involved in the body's normal functioning.

Now what are the factors that lead to this complication?? The most common factor for this abnormality is being overweight  or obese. It's also linked to a condition called insulin resistance. Normally, your digestive system breaks down the foods you eat into sugar. Insulin is a hormone made by your pancreas that helps sugar enter your cells to be used as fuel. As a result, your blood sugar levels rise even as your body churns out more and more insulin to try to lower your blood sugar.

Some other risk factors are enlisted below:-

1.       Having a high Triglycerides level(They are a type of fat found in the blood.

2.       Low HDL (good cholesterol) level and a high bad cholesterol level.

3.       High blood pressure.

4.       High fasting blood-sugar

5.       Having an inactive or a sedentary lifestyle.

6.       Insulin resistance.

7.       People also develop this complication if they have an early family history of the same syndrome or diabetes.

8.       Your risk of metabolic syndrome is higher if you've ever had nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, polycystic ovary syndrome or sleep apnea.

If you are thinking that it is only a Weight gain so please don’t take it too easy. Metabolic syndrome is a serious health condition that affects about 23 percent of adults and places them at higher risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, stroke and diseases related to fatty buildups in artery walls. Some other that complications that precede Metabolic syndrome are:-

  1. 1. hardening of the arteries (atherosclerosis)
  2. Diabetes.
  3. Heart attack.
  4. Kidney disease.
  5. Stroke.
  6. Hypertension.
  7. Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.
  8. Cardiovascular disease.

But everything is not impossible. Doctors have worked out some ways to prevent this syndrome and very practical they are. The most important treatment for metabolic syndrome is a heart-healthy lifestyle, which includes:-

  • A heart-healthy eating plan, which limits the amount of saturated and trans fats that you eat. It encourages you to choose a variety of nutritious foods, including fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean meats.
  •  Aiming for a healthy lifestyle.
  • Managing stress.
  • Getting regular physical activity.
  • Quitting smoking(or not starting if you don't already smoke)
  • If making lifestyle changes is not enough, you may need to take medicines. For example, you may need medicines to lower cholesterol or blood pressure.
  • Get active.
  • Lose weight.
  • If making lifestyle changes is not enough, you may need to take medicines. For example, you may need medicines to lower cholesterol or blood pressure.

Most of the disorders associated with metabolic syndrome don't have obvious signs or symptoms. One sign that is visible is a large waist circumference. And if your blood sugar is high, you might notice the signs and symptoms of diabetes — such as increased thirst and urination, fatigue, and blurred vision.

But as I have said before, nothing is impossible. So this means that this syndrome can be prevented. The best way to prevent metabolic syndrome is through the heart-healthy lifestyle changes.

This syndrome can be serious. So start a healthy lifestyle free yourself from all the chains of medical complications. Always remember, our today makes our tomorrowJJJ

Well friends, so that was it. Hope you liked it and hope it helps you. If you notice atleast 3 of the symptoms which I have enlisted above, contact your doctor immediately. I again say that please DONOT take the medical complications too lightly. They become serious with time. But we hope foer the best. May you and your family stay safe from every problem. Would write my next blog soon. Till then Bye!!

EXAMS-GATEKEEPERS TO SUCCESS OR TRAPS OF STRESS?

Hello, lovely people. It has been a really long time since I have posted anything. To be honest, whenever I got free from my college exams, I have been writing something constantly, but in the end, the final draft did not seem perfect enough to post and for people to read. I was in exam crunch due to my last college year, so I needed to focus on my studies. And now THAT I AM DONE WITH  MY LAST BOARD EXAM today, here I am, at your service, breaking ice on another taboo subject. One that some parents MIGHT NOT appreciate. So here we go, my thoughts at your service, for you to analyze and weigh(erm.. I should probably skip to the main part :) Anyway, Enjoy!) As judged by the topic, we are going to look at an in-depth analysis of the concept of exams and whether they are really the right tool to assess every student, even after knowing that, well, every mind is built differently? So, what can an exam be defined as? According to Google search( yep, I research from Google ),  ...

NAEGLERIA

Hello everyone! How are you all? I hope that you all are fine. Okay... so the topic for today is Naegleria. So, without losing a moment, let's get started:- GENERAL INTRODUCTION:- Naegleria  is a free-living amoebae protist genus consisting of 47 described species often found in warm aquatic environments as well as soil habitats worldwide. It has three life cycle forms: the amoeboid stage, the cyst stage, and the flagellated stage, and has been routinely studied for its ease in change from amoeboid to flagellated stages. The  Naegleria  genera became famous when  Naegleria fowleri , a human pathogenic strain and the causative agent of primary amoebic meningoencephalitis (PAM), was discovered in 1965. Most species in the genus, however, are nonpathogenic. TYPES OF NAEGLERIA:- 47 species of  Naegleria  have been described. These include: Naegleria americana Naegleria andersoni Naegleria angularis Naegleria antarctica Naegleria arctica Naegleria austral...
